School & Center For Children With Autism In New York
Shema Kolainu's Mission

History

Shema Kolainu (SK-HOV) - Hear Our Voices, a school and center for children with autism spectrum disorders, was founded in 1998 by Joshua Weinstein, Ph.D., M.B.A., in response to the growing need in the New York metropolitan area's education system for programs that effectively fill the learning and emotional requirements of children with autism. Today, over 1,000 children, birth to 11, are enrolled in our school- and community-based educational and therapy programs from all five boroughs of New York City.

Mission

To hear the voices of the children and families we serve as they strive to achieve their full potential for independence, productivity and inclusion in the community. Shema Kolainu is dedicated to the education of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Our vision is to provide the best opportunity offered anywhere for children with ASD to enable their meaningful integration into society.
