Therapists and Evaluators – OT, PT, Speech, Psych

Shema Kolainu- Hear Our Voices is a leader in servicing children with develomental delays for over 10 years. We are seeking Evaluators and therapists to service infants/toddlers for our growing Early Intervention Program. The Early Intervention Program offers a variety of therapeutic services and support to eligible infant and toddlers and their families. These services include: family education and counseling; home visits and parent support groups; speech pathology and audiology; occupational therapy; physical therapy; psychological services; service coordination; and social work and vision services.

Responsibilities Include: Provide early intervention services in the area or discipline the clinician is certified in. Provide services in a culturally sensitive and family centered manner in both home and community settings. Document progress and ensure documentation meets Department of Health and Mental Hygiene standards. Participate in multidisciplinary team communication and service plans. Ensure that services delivered appropriately address the goals as stated in the IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan.) To administer core, and supplemental evaluations in the area of concern for a child referred to the Early Intervention Program.

Licensure requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field to position; valid, current New York State Licensure in area of specialty (e.g. Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist, Psychologis); ex perience working with infants and toddlers with developmental delays. Knowledge of a family centered approach; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with NYC DOH Early Intervention Program; knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice along with commitment to strengths-based, family centered practice; strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills; superb oral and written communication skills.; sense of energy and enthusiasm; ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment; DOH Early Intervention approval. Bi-lingual a plus. Must be flexible to accommodate the needs of the family, including evenings and weekends if needed. We have work available in all 5 boroughs of NYC.

EI Service Coordinator
SKHOV is an Early Intervention agency serving children 0-3 with developmental delays. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Service Coordinator. The job location is in Boro Park, Brooklyn.

Responsibilities include:
Guide families through the Early Intervention Process
Provide case management to families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays.
Plan and coordinate with families to receive evaluations and services.
Develop plans and strategies to meet the family’s needs.
Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Ensure that approved services are provided in a timely manner.
Maintain regular and ongoing contact with families.
Monitor caseload ensuring that all documentation is in compliance with EIP
Collaborate with our own case management department and outside provider agencies to secure needed services for families.
Act as a liaison between therapists and family and EI providers, whenever necessary.
Maintain proper documentation on families and children.

Requirements
Experience in the Early Intervention Program an absolute must
Fluent in another language such as Spanish, Hebrew, Hindi, or Bengali is preferred
Solid interpersonal communication - verbal and written - skills are required.
Ability to multitask
Take initiative and be a decision maker
Strong analytical skills
Strong typing skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word and customized databases
Successful experience working in a high volume work environment where organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.

Adaptive Physical Education Teacher

Seeking an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) utilizing the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) method.

Requirements: NYS certification in Adaptive Physical Education

Will be expected to design an adaptive physical program of developmental activities, games, sports, and rhythms suited to the interests, capabilities and limitations of our students.

This is a part-time hourly position
